Prosthodontist Dr. Steven G. Lewis
About Dr. Lewis
Dr. Lewis earned his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He then spent three years at UCLA, where he added specialty certificates in both prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics. He stayed for an additional eight years at UCLA, serving as a full-time faculty member at the dental school. During that time, Dr. Lewis served as Co-Director of the UCLA Dental Implant Center as well as the UCLA Maxillofacial Prosthetics Residency Program. After UCLA, Dr. Lewis practiced as a Prosthodontist in Ohio for 16 years with an emphasis on Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Lewis has more than 25 years of clinical and research experience in the field of dental implants, and served as President of the Academy of Osseointegration (2008-2009), the leading professional association for Implant Dentistry with over 6000 members in 70 countries. He has also served as Co-Director of the UCLA Dental Implant Center, and has authored or co-authored numerous articles published in a variety professional journals, as well as several books and book chapters. He has been a frequent lecturer on multiple topics related to implant dentistry, and as a consultant to several major implant manufacturers, he has helped develop a variety of implant components and techniques.
